Our history

Nieto & Nieto Lawyers emerged at a crucial moment for the Colombian economy. It was founded on December 14, 2000, in response to the financial crisis generated by the old well-known UPAC system, which affected millions of Colombians since the late 1990s. The firm’s founder, Jaime Nieto Pérez, is a Doctor of Law and Jurisprudence who sought to provide legal advice and legal solutions to those who had been harmed by the imbalances in the financial market.

Thanks to its passion and discipline in helping people affected by the financial crisis, in 2002, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce awarded the firm the “Businessman’s Code of Ethics” distinction, in recognition of its excellent service and its contribution to Colombian society.
